About the role:

Join Takeda as a Research Scientist where you will contribute to experimental design and implementation of improvements for routine and non-routine procedures. You will also develop, validate and execute cell-based assays that model complex cellular biology, with a focus largely on primary cell analysis. As part of the GI Inflammatory Disease Research team, you will report to the Associate Director and work with the Gastroenterology Drug Discovery Unit (GI DDU) organization.

How you will contribute:

Independently plan assignments for a research work group or project, troubleshoots complex problems specialized procedures, and change experimental design if necessary.
Develop and validate new methods to support completion of complex assignments within a project.
Exercise independent judgement (selecting most appropriate methods, coordinating efforts, evaluating criteria for obtaining results).
Use technical literature to implement novel procedures, changes and improvements within a project. Can duplicate and modify experimental procedures based on the literature.
Interpret and analyze data, incorporating results into overall scientific projects; Independently generate novel hypothesis.
Maintain a proactive and vocal approach to improving departmental efficiency.
Present literature data within department and occasionally to broader audiences.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

PhD degree in a scientific discipline (or equivalent), or
MS with 6+ years relevant experience, or
BS with 8+ years relevant experience
Demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge within discipline
Apply in-depth knowledge of concepts, applications and methods as the recognized technical expert in subfield
Clarify requests and provide suggestions and put data into context
Understand why one series of experiments is more appropriate than others
