POSITION SUMMARY

TheReproductive Biology Hub Directorwill manage operations, facilities and employees of the ReproHub at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging in support of innovative research aimed at understanding the biological processes that underlie both reproductive age-related diseases and reproductive aging. The ReproHub is a core facility that provides experimental support and training for studies requiring expertise in reproductive biology. The ReproHub Director will provide intellectual and technical expertise on reproductive science, working collaboratively with scientific staff in labs at Buck and other institutions on research projects related to reproductive aging.

The Hub Director is a PhD scientist with extensive expertise in mammalian reproductive biology who can direct and execute sophisticated integrative projects in reproductive biology and aging, and analyze and interpret data. In addition to state-of-the-art instrumentation and fee-for-service assays utilizing rodent, primate, and human reproductive tissues, the Hub enables lab members to obtain training in the techniques necessary to carry out these experiments in their home labs. This knowledge transfer will be essential to bring in new researchers to tackle the problem of reproductive aging. The Hub Director will consult and advise on the level of access offered by the Hub on specific aspects of projects, through training on particular techniques and/or instruments available in the Hub, to complete molecular analyses from sample preparation to final data analysis and interpretation.

The qualified applicant will work closely with senior scientific staff in labs and with other Core Directors at Buck, and with scientists from other Institutions on research projects related to reproductive aging. This collaborative position is at the interface of the Buck Center for Reproductive Longevity and Equality (CRLE), the Global Consortium for Reproductive Longevity and Equality (GCRLE) and Buck Institute scientists.
