Position Overview

The Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) works with a global network of partners to build an inclusive industry that makes clean cooking accessible to the 2.4 billion people who live each day without it. Established in 2010, the CCA is driving consumer demand, mobilizing investment to build a pipeline of scalable businesses, and fostering an enabling environment that allows the sector to thrive. Clean cooking transforms lives by improving health, protecting the climate and environment, empowering women, and helping consumers save time and money. In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals and Net Zero Agenda, CCA is working to achieve universal access to clean cooking by 2030.

CCA seeks at international development leader to drive delivery of innovative and results-driven strategies and new programs. You enjoy developing creative solutions to complex challenges. You excel in solving problems using clear strategic and creative thinking, and you are motivated by serving as a change agent for transformative impact. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and comfortable to learn by doing. You are driven by a passion for international development and the opportunity to contribute to systems-level change to achieve inclusive and sustained access to opportunities. You would be excited to work at the cross section of clean energy transitions, climate change, women's empowerment, and private sector development.

CCA led an ecosystem-wide Strategy development process. The Clean Cooking Systems Strategy (CCSS) aims to secure commitment and mobilize collective action toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal 7 - access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. The Strategy has been co-created with over 250 stakeholders from across the clean cooking ecosystem and adjacent spaces, including partners from the energy access, food systems, health, climate, conservation and gender empowerment sectors.

CCA Is Leading The Development And Implementation Four Of These Multi-stakeholder Initiatives

Through the Systems Strategy, stakeholders have identified a set of high-impact initiatives that the ecosystem needs to drive meaningful action towards rapid and equitable clean cooking transitions. These initiatives will harness existing efforts as well as create new solutions to drive sustained results over time.

* Delivery Units Network (DUN), a network to establish teams within governments to run local delivery units that are dedicated to developing and/or implementing ambitious and equitable national clean cooking plans;
* Results Based Financing Accelerator (RBFA), a multi-partner platform to unlock larger pools of outcome-based financing for the clean cooking ecosystem through greater innovation, increased transparency and elevated credibility for outcome buyers;
* User Insights Lab (UIL) to apply a customer-centric lens to the clean cooking programs and solutions through a combination of data analytics, behavior science and user-centered design expertise; and
* Evidence to Action Hub (E2AH) to reshape perspectives and narratives among key audiences through actionable, evidence-based messaging and influence campaigns.

The Strategy and Development team is responsible for continued stewardship of the CCSS, including supporting fundraising and implementation of the Strategy Initiatives, developing and integrating CCA's organizational strategy and providing advisory support to CCA leadership, program teams and partners. The Senior Director will join the Strategy and Development team to lead on the development and implementation of the Strategy Initiatives, strategic fundraising, and special projects.

The Senior Director will be expected to work extensively through partnerships to leverage other institutions and efforts and scale the reach and depth of the Strategy Initiatives. They will also work closely with teams across CCA to ensure the cross-cutting Initiatives are integrated, well-resourced and implemented across the CCA portfolio of work.
