Director of Environmental Health and Safety

Our client, a leading nutraceutical, is currently seeking an accomplished Director of Environmental Health and Safety to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:

1) Develop, implement, and supervise the company's safety program
2) Evaluate safety indicators and assess monthly events to find trends and justify resource allocation to high-risk regions
3) Establish a company-wide training program for all staff members to ensure adherence to safety regulations and advance the safety culture
4) Create an orientation program for safety for all new employees. With the cooperation of human resources, conduct safety orientation and training for new hires
5) Oversees the investigation of every event and injury from the time it is reported until it is finished. Consider ways to make safety measures better
6) Ensure that workers are protected from harm and operate safely
7) Keep an eye on employees to see if they are adhering to corporate safety rules
8) Examine the equipment to determine whether it meets safety regulations
9) Chair the Safety Committee meeting and monthly safety walk-throughs
10) Ensure site leadership and all staff are taught and aware of their obligations in accordance with the company's safety rules
11) Frequent facility audits are required to find any processes or equipment that are not compliant. Implement strategies to end risk exposure and stop mishaps
12) Additional duties delegated by management

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the nutraceutical industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in manufacturing
