We serve as the trusted strategic advisors to adverse client base including private industry and the public sector and employ an interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving that synthesizes the work of our scientific, economic, engineering, and regulatory experts to create practical solutions for complex environmental and natural resource management issues. Our understanding of complex scientific linkages and regulatory requirements associated with environmental permitting and compliance, contributes to our success in assisting clients through the planning, permitting, monitoring, closure, and restoration processes. Catalyst has offices in Portland, OR; Santa Barbara, CA, Oxnard, CA; Oakland, CA; and Santa Monica, CA as well as a field office in Santa Clarita, CA.

We are seeking a senior environmental planner to be based in one of our Southern California offices - Santa Barbara, Oxnard, Santa Monica, or Santa Clarita, with options to work remotely. Qualifications and Education Requirements

* 8-12 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, government, or EHS/ regulatory affairs in industry
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Environmental Economics, Biology, Ecology, Geology or other biological or physical science fields
* Advanced working knowledge of federal and California state environmental regulations
* Experienced project manager on medium-to-large contracts ($100k or greater)
* Expert in management and preparation of documents in compliance with California Environmental Quality Act and National Environmental Policy Act
* Expert in environmental permitting in California
* Proven client relationship and business development skills
* Expert knowledge of MS Office Programs - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Sharepoint, and Teams

Role and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities include:

* Serving as project manager or deputy project manager for various environmental planning projects (CEQA, NEPA, environmental permitting, technical studies) - managing scope, deliverables, budgets, and schedule commitments
* Performing a range of defined technical tasks, field work, collecting and analyzing data, and writing reports
* Preparing proposals, scopes of works, and budgets
* Developing and maintaining client relationships, and contributing to business development efforts to meet annual revenue targets
