The Georgia-Pacific Environmental Entry Level Professional (ELP) Program is an unprecedented skill-building opportunity which prepares its participants for a career in the environmental field at Georgia-Pacific. As part of the ELP program, you will perform the role of an Environmental Associate. You'll spend approximately 12 to 18 months working on projects and gaining exposure to subject matter experts, as well as key leaders in our facilities.

This posting is seeking new Environmental Associates. Ideal candidates should have the ability to manage multiple priorities at once, illustrate strong organizational, verbal, and written skills, and demonstrate leadership. Knowledge of major technical/regulatory programs, understanding the importance of environmental management systems, experience with data management and sampling procedures are beneficial to the success of someone in this role.

Upon successful completion of the Environmental ELP program, participants may move into another position within the organization and continue to advance their career as an environmental professional.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

During your field assignment you will engage with our facility and regional environmental teams while performing assignments and projects that may include some of the items listed below:

* Supporting day-to-day environmental compliance requirements
* Developing and managing environmental training programs
* Assisting in design, management and permitting of projections in air, water, and remediation
* Supporting the implementation of environmental management systems to maintain sustainable practices
* Participating in internal auditing programs
* Assisting in identifying and mitigating environmental risks to support continuous improvement
* Participating in activities to drive environmental excellence and sustainability

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

* Completion of a bachelor's degree, or will have completed a Bachelor's Degree by June 2023 in one of the following: Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental or Occupational Health, Biology, Natural Resources, or science degree/discipline.
* Ability to relocate per program requirements - at least twice within the first 12-month period

* Previous environmental or engineering internship/co-op
* Work experience in a manufacturing environment
