Job Title: Microbiology ManagerVacancy type: PermanentSalary: Depending on ExperienceLocation: North East, NewcastleWe are currently looking for a Microbiology Manager to join a fast-paced contract testing laboratory, which specialises in food testing, across allergen testing, contaminants, integrity, and nutritional analysis. Working closely with the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the co-ordination of laboratory resources and workflows to ensure accurate and timely analyses, as well as managing a team and working on the ongoing optimisation of the process.The main duties and responsibilities will include:Manage overall laboratory operations and be responsible for the successful management of staff and processes.Implement and manage continuous improvements.Liaise with other site teams when required, including auditors, team leaders, technical managers, the LEAN team, quality manager, etc.Undertake microbial testing on food, water and environmental samples when required, and ensure these operations are high quality and transferred to customers in a timely manner.The successful Microbiology Manager will be qualified to a degree level in a relevant science subject, preferably microbiology, or hold equivalent experience. They will also have managerial experience in a laboratory/production setting, preferably within food or contract manufacturing.Interested?
