DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
· The individual in this position will be required to organize and coordinate the day to day operation of the Microbiology Laboratory to include task planning and workload prioritization.
· Assist with micro personnel training activities such as aseptic techniques, sterility, LAL, identification techniques, instrument troubleshooting and others.
· Assist Lab Manager with validations, laboratory investigation such as OOL investigations and sterility failures.
· Review quality data generated by Quality Laboratories such as water data, monitoring environmental data, sterility data and others.
· Oversee cleanliness and general organization of the working area.
· Monitor and ensure proper instrument calibration and schedule.
· Responsible for writing technical protocols and laboratory execution of technical protocols.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Bachelors degree in a science discipline with at least 6 years of laboratory experience, preferably in a GMP manufacturing environment.
· Strong understanding of current GMP regulations as they relate to operations in a microbiology laboratory.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong documentation skills.
· Must be detail oriented.
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
· Well organized with the ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
· General knowledge in LIMS and Microsoft Office.
· Knowledge of aseptic technique is preferred.
· Ability to work in aseptic production environment that requires extended periods of time standing and wearing sterile garb.
