Your Responsibilities as a Scientist 2:
  • Collect soil, water, air, and/or building material samples in support of assessment/remediation projects in the greater Bay Area and surrounding counties.
  • Conduct field work including groundwater and soil sampling, soil vapor sampling, indoor air sampling.
  • Schedule and coordinate utility, excavation, and drilling subcontractors
  • Perform soil logging
  • Compile detailed data/field notes and photographs
  • Prepare chain-of-custody forms for analytical testing
  • Support projects ~60% in the field/~40% home/office;
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data for field reports.
  • Write technical reports and proposals.

What we're looking for:
  • BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or other related field required
  • 3-4 years of experience with environmental field sampling and data collection
  • Strong technical writing skills, the ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
  • Light construction experience/hands-on skills a plus
  • Experience with data management and report preparation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
