Sample Receipt/Login/Shipment

* Receives and unloads incoming samples or consignments in accordance with DOT regulations and verifies receipt against Chain of Custody (COC), matches it to the corresponding quote and notes discrepancies daily. Verifies that COC's are accurate, complete, and correct and seeks resolution for those that are not.
* Inspect samples for damage or violated hold times to maintain sample integrity.
* Ensures accurate and timely documentation of sample log in, labeling, and routing. This includes checking and recording temperatures, checking custody seals, identifying Rush/Short-Hold samples, etc.
* Logs samples into Lab Management System daily to assign a lot number for tracking purposes and distributes paperwork to Project Managers.
* Determines the priority level and appropriate testing procedures of samples according to Chain of Custody as well as labels and stores samples in accordance with documented procedures.
* Labels samples so they may be identified by the lot number; assigns and delivers samples to appropriate labs for analysis daily.
* Performs splits and composites as needed upon request.
* Monitors freezer and cooler temperatures, as well as IR gun, daily to confirm that the readings are within SOP guidelines. Assists in maintenance of coolers to facilitate locating samples.
* Ensures shipments are performed daily to the appropriate laboratory using the identified shipping vendor.
* Ensures shipments are packed appropriately to prevent damage to samples or breakage of containers.

Bottle Kit Preparation

* Prepares bottle kits daily to be shipped to clients to collect samples and return for analysis in accordance with established procedures including EPA and DOT requirements. Forwards samples to other laboratories in accordance with DOT regulations as needed to run tests that are not performed at that location.
* Verify the validity and completeness of all bottle orders being prepared/delivered. This verification is done prior to leaving for delivery/shipment.
* Restock supplies when received so supplies are available to team when needed.
* Ship empty coolers back to clients and other Eurofins Laboratories as needed.

Courier

* Pick-up and delivery of samples, bottle orders, etc. as well as additional customer service, driving, or courier duties as necessary to support laboratory and client needs.
* If possible, count the number of samples when receiving them from clients to make sure that the Chain of Custody and samples match. Verify that samples are not broken or damaged.
* Receive and sign/date the Chain of Custody.
* If possible, ensure that client signs, dates, and records time on the Chain of Custody when releasing samples.
* Transport samples on ice from client site to the lab, or from our lab to a sub- contracted laboratory.
* Follow directions or use maps to locate client offices/sites.
* Communicate effectively with the supervisor about the courier schedule.
* Maintain delivery vehicles to keep in proper working order and cleanliness; Maintain records for the vehicle maintenance and driving miles.
* Perform duties in accordance with Section 14 of the Transportation and Fleet Safety of the Corporate Safety Manual.
* Comply with the Company's "Driver Evaluation and Qualification Policy".
* Be compliant with all driver procedures, certifications, and Company driver policies.

General

* Follows all applicable regulations and SOPs.
* Conducts all interactions with Project Managers and clients appropriately and professionally.
* Dispose of samples according to guidelines on a monthly basis to remain in compliance with EPA and EH&S requirements.
* Cleans and organizes the department daily to promote a clean, safe work environment and smoother flow of daily operations. This includes cleaning, drying and maintain coolers.
* Maintains and promotes safety and conducts all operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
* Supports the team in all departmental responsibilities; when assigned tasks are completed, it is expected to be proactive and help other team members and the department complete its activities.

May be assigned other sample control duties as identified by the supervisor/local management
