Therapeutic Areas: Neurodegenerative, Cardiovascular

Job Overview: Looking for a talented scientist with a strong background in molecular biology including PCR/qPCR, NGS, and human cell culture (ideally stem cell).

Responsibilities:
  • Extraction, isolation, and/or purification of nucleic acids
  • Routine PCR and qPCR
  • Prepare NGS libraries from processed samples (WES, RNAseq, scRNAseq, and similar)
  • Optimize isolation of materials for sequencing-based analysis together with more senior team members
  • Process samples for in/out-sourced analyses as needed
  • Thoroughly document all tasks
  • Clearly present and discuss results in team meetings
  • Communicate well with other team members about all aspects of the project
  • Routine mammalian and human stem cell culture
  • Standard transfection/transduction of mammalian cells
  • Flow cytometry, immunostaining (i.e., ICC, IF)

Qualifications:
  • Ph.D in Biological sciences with 2+ years of experience in a biology lab
  • High level of competency in routine molecular biology techniques outlined above
  • Experience with human cell culture, preferably stem cells
  • Very strong technical experience in RNA/DNA isolation and qPCR
  • Strong analytical capabilities and demonstrated independent technical proficiency with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a cohesive team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must have work authorization for the United States
  • Basic understanding of high-level bioinformatic concepts
  • Hands-on experience with plasmid preparation, bacterial culture, and cellular reporter assays
  • Previous experience with CRISPR or similar gene editing technologies
