Job Summary:

In the U.S. office, this position is remote due to Covid-19 and can remain remote once restrictions are lifted. This position can also be based in our offices in Colombia, Mexico, Indonesia, Kenya, or Ethiopia.

As the Partnership Origination Manager, you will be out in our countries of implementation finding potential public private partnerships as applicants for our non-returnable grants. P4G grants support innovative startup businesses working in the green growth economy. You will be working at the cutting edge of multi-sector public-private partnerships that are advancing global green growth. Reporting to the Director of Partnerships you will lead the origination and selection process for P4G's partnerships. In this position, your principal responsibilities will be to originate and manage the process to select and provide funding and support to the best possible partnerships for the P4G Hub. You will be a part of the Partnerships teams, and you will work across all other P4G teams in order to manage a whole-of-team approach to the origination and selection process. You will lead this process for P4G both externally and internally and will be responsible for outreach and connections across P4Gs and your own broad network to source partnerships.

Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining all of the timelines, tools, guidelines, and materials needed for the P4G Hub to proactively take partnerships through the origination and selection process.

You will also be responsible for the internal and external trainings, workshops, and seminars to ensure that the origination plan is well understood and coordinated across our partner country stakeholders and is adjusted as needed based on an adaptive management approach. Using the P4G network and your own network you will cultivate a pipeline of prospective partnerships, manage and actively participate in and contribute to the evaluation and selection of our partnerships which occurs on an rolling basis throughout each year. The P4G Team consists of a global, fast-paced and dynamic set of individuals and organizations, with whom you will work to cultivate, coordinate and manage the critical needs of each of our partnerships during the selection process. You will also be the designated Hub project manager and/or senior advisor for a select set of Partnerships. There will be multiple opportunities for you to facilitate workshops and meetings, and/or present on P4Gs approach, mission and partnerships at events throughout each year.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the P4G partnership origination and selection process through to grant award
  • Originate partnerships & coordinate across multiple regional and country-level partnership originators
  • Manage new partnership analysis throughout the origination and selection processes including setting and maintaining all timelines and keeping staff across multiple teams on track
  • Coordinate across a group of Project Managers (PM) who will take the originated partnerships through the analysis process to determine which will receive P4G grant funding and support services
  • Maintain, update or create tools to enable the management and coordination of the Hubs origination services
  • Manage independent external investment advisor or other consultants as needed
  • Lead partnership impact analysis working with a team of sectoral, regional, and engagement professionals
  • Conduct original financial, business, or economic analysis of the partnerships, providing this advice to the partnership, the Hub, National Platforms and others on an as-needed basis
  • Create and present on topics related to P4G and our partnerships at multiple events and in multiple media, including: internal and external webinars, conferences and meetings
  • Designated Hub project manager for designated partnerships
  • Maintain the learning culture of the P4G Hub within the P4G partnerships team

Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years of full-time, professional experience
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of one the five sectors in which P4G operates, including: Food and Agriculture, Energy, Water, Cities, and/or the Circular Economy in low and middle economies
  • Experience in managing finance or investments in start-up or scale-up level projects and public-private partnerships and/or experience in project or program management for start-up and scale-up level projects and public-private partnerships
  • Familiarity with financial analysis, business plans, and starting up new enterprises
  • Bachelors Degree in Science, Engineering or Finance required.
  • Masters Degree inScience, Engineering, Business or Finance preferred.
  • Superb interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collegially with others and with the highest standards of integrity
  • Demonstrated experience creating original presentations and speaking at professional/technical conferences, forum, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently facilitate workshops
  • Experience working in challenging, cross-sectoral, multi-cultural, fast-paced environments
  • International experience strongly preferred, especially in one of P4Gs partner countries
  • Superb interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collegially with others and with the highest standards of integrity
  • Commitment to P4G Partnerships mission, values, and approach regarding climate issues
  • An appetite for adventure, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and a keen sense of principled development
