Looking for a Microbiologist to join our amazing team ! (Microbiology degree or Biology degree with micro classes taken.)

Mon-Friday early hours. Position pays $62400

Function:

Microbiologist I is responsible to assist in providing the necessary support to ensure compliance with all FDA and USP methods/guidelines as well as GMPs. Assisting in conducting and/or coordinating microbiological tasks associated with quality and environmental control of manufacturing processes and the sterilization of devices.

Job Description:

Performs routine microbiological testing (Microbiological Examination of non-sterile products, sterility testing, and antimicrobial effectiveness testing) to ensure compliance to applicable cGMPs, SOPs, USP and FDA requirements.

Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers, peers and supervising manager to facilitate the smooth conduct of project activities and to assure project timeline understanding and deliverables are met, as appropriate.

Assist in Maintaining awareness of cGMPs, industry standards, modern techniques and their application to pharmaceutical sciences activities.

Ensures that the environmental monitoring program is fully functional and operates within the boundaries of alert and action limits.

Releases product after sterilization testing, after all applicable tests are complete and ensures the product meets requirements.

Responsible for biological indicators placement for sterilization loads (where applicable).

Ensures that all equipment that relates to sterility monitoring is validated and calibrated and participates in the equipment validation development.

Assists QA within the capacity of validating equipment, products, and protocols.

Ability to participate in multiple projects within the Quality Control/Microbiology group.

Detail oriented; able to compile data in a clear and understandable format and notice discrepancies, calculation errors, and deviations from test methods and/or acceptance criteria

Lab skills, such as familiarity with, (this is not all inclusive) dilution series, handling of agar plates, small volume pipetting, handling chemicals, handling microorganisms, autoclave and sterile techniques, streaking for isolation, process and assess environmental samples, total organic carbon counting and conductivity monitoring, media suitability (growth promotion), titrations, chlorine count, pH, stability testing, environmental monitoring, bioburden testing, water testing.

Provides guidance and hands-on performance of daily workload in the laboratory in support of the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.

Communicate effectively with all associates and departments through collaboration, networking and innovation to maintain high quality performance levels.

Receive and prioritize assignments as required to ensure goals and objectives are met locally and to assist in providing input to regulatory bodies.

Perform assays, collect and process samples, enter and review data, perform preliminary review and sign-off of assays, prepare and test reagents used in assays as needed in a timely manner.

Assist in the qualification of new controls, standards and reagents.

Maintain log books related to inventory and equipment.

Ensure labs are clean and safe (in compliance with cGMP), and properly stocked.

Qualifications:

Degree in a general science degree is required

1-2 years experience in a pharmaceutical or related field preferred.

Plans and prioritizes concurrent assignments/activities.

Highly motivated individual who receives minimal supervision on routine assignments.

Demonstrates flexibility and ability to multi-task.

Good level of communication skills with peers and management

Possesses well developed attention to detail.
