Why Join Intellia?

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.

We want all of our people to go beyond what is possible. We aren't constrained by typical end rails, and we aren't out to just "treat" people. We're all in this for something more. We're driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.

How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

As a Scientist, you will support the characterization and quantitation of gene editing events using high throughput next-generation sequencing (NGS). You will be a part of the Pre-clinical NGS Platform team, focused on genomic characterization assays for regulatory packages and clinical programs with expertise in tissue culture and work in a high throughput environment. Main responsibilities include:

Design and execute cell plating and dosing workflows both manually and using liquid handling automation to support in vitro on-/off- target editing characterization for regulatory filings.

Develop molecular and cell-based assays to measure target mRNA and/or protein expression level.

Establish and write SOPs as well as communicate data through presentation and written documentation.

Manage multiple workflow queues and requests.

Conduct experiments, troubleshoot, and optimize, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues to meet deadlines.

Accurately document project and sample information, protocols, and experimental details through the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).

Write and QC technical and study reports to support regulatory filings (IND or CTA equivalent), and then synthesize the results for effective communication across various levels of expertise.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate with a Ph.D. with >2 years or a BS/MS with >8/5 years in Cell Biology or related discipline, with relevant experience in an academic or industrial setting. If you have strong communications skills (written and oral), coupled with exceptional time management skills, attention to detail, and a team-centric attitude - We encourage you to apply!

Proficiency in mammalian cell culture techniques. Experience with primary hepatocytes is preferred.

Solid hands-on experience with cell transfection/transduction using LNP and AAV is desired.

Experience with DNA and RNA extraction and assay design for PCR, ddPCR, RT-qPCR, ELISA etc.

Extensive knowledge of CRISPR gene editing approaches and NGS is preferred.

Experience with liquid handling platforms (preferably Hamilton) is preferred.

Experience with T cells and HSCs is a plus.

Meet your future team:

The Genomics team is a fun, energetic, and passionate group of individuals, who are focused on pre-clinical NGS data support for IND or CTA packages. You will report directly to the Director of the Pre-clinical NGS team. This hiring manager oversees Intellia's regulatory data generation for genotoxicity studies. Given the breadth of work on this team, the candidate will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of areas within the Automation, Engineering, Genomics, Informatics, and Screening (AEGIS) group.

The team is currently working mostly onsite to execute NGS workflows in a wet-lab environment. Therefore, we require a candidate to be currently local to Cambridge MA, or open to relocating. While much of the day-to-day operations require managing wet-lab work, our team is focused on building not just technical expertise but fostering an environment for the growth of young scientists interested in a career in RNA-biotech. If you join our team, you can expect to join a hardworking, collaborative but flexible environment. We look forward to fostering your skills, learning from your experiences, and building a larger team that will make a difference in patients' lives.

Covid-19 Vaccination Policy: All Intellia employees, regardless of work location, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. This requirement includes a booster dose once eligible. Requests for exemption for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs will be considered.

We do not discriminate in recruitment, hiring, training, promotion or any other employment practices for reasons of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, marital or veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.
