Qualifications:Education: • Minimum required: B.Sc. in biochemistry or biological sciences with 1 - 5 years lab experience • M.Sc. degree with 0-3years lab experience Required: • Cell and molecular biology experience • Tissue culture experience • Experience with nucleic acid analysis / design software (e.g. Vector NTI) • Software: Data analysis including Excel and Prism • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented • Excellent record keeping/laboratory notebook skills. • Critical thinking; able to evaluate results and troubleshoot issues. Personality: • Curious • Enthusiastic • Self-motivated • Independent • Focused • Communicates well *Note: 1year assignment with possibility of extension. Onsite lab based role.*
Responsibilities:• The successful candidate will be responsible for using their cell and molecular biology skills to characterize antiviral drug resistance. • For success in this role a candidate who is flexible with day-day routine, has a high degree of scientific curiosity and, is willing to learn is required. • Scientific techniques used in this role will include, but are not limited to; mammalian cell culture, microscopy, high-content imaging, additional cell-based assays, nucleic acid/protein extraction and RT-PCR. • Virology, Western Blot, qPCR and ELISA experience preferred but not required.
