Biologist

Job DescriptionRequirements:

• Interim Clearance to Start
• Travel will be limited but all travel with be domestic
• B.A./B.S./M.S. in biology, biomedical engineering or related scientific field, or equivalent experience in lab-based biology and biological methods
• Demonstrated skills in biology lab best practices (e.g., aseptic technique, experimental design)
• Experience with common molecular and cellular biology techniques among the following:
• Quantitative PCR
• Purification and quantification of nucleic acids
• Working with complex sample types (e.g. environmental samples)
• Data analysis
• This individual should have a willingness to learn additional methods and platforms as needed

Additional Preferred Requirements:Lab experience outside of coursework and evidence of self-directed research and problem-solving abilities is highly desirableDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a wide spectrum of audiences and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams is also desiredOther highly desired molecular and cellular biology techniques include:Nucleic acid sequencingBioinformaticsMammalian and microbial cell cultureMicroscopy
Job Description:
This individual will support biological laboratory efforts associated with a broad range of programs in core C-WMD mission technology areas to address key stakeholder needs and further the Group's core C-WMD mission areas.
