Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety Manager

Department: Administration

FLSA Status: Exempt


Under direct supervision of the President & COO, the Environmental Health, and Safety Manager will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment at BLM GROUP USA. Works with all employees to train and ensure safety procedures and policies are followed while maintaining compliance.

Essential Functions

The duties listed below are the specific duties and tasks that someone in this position must accomplish.

  • Work with each department to develop best safety practices internally and at the customer's location.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and manage worker's compensation claims.
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics
  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Establishes and maintains an excellent working relationship with both Municipal, State, and Federal authorities as required to maintain 100% compliance
  • Demonstratable training experience of distributed employees of both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of related experience preferred.
  • Completed forty (40) hours of HAZWOPER training.

Knowledge, Skills, and other Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project).
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Able to effectively use the Internet.
  • Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.


Valid Driver's License with no more than two (2) points on a driving record within a three (3) year period

General office equipment, including, computers, printers, fax machines and telephones
