We are seeking an Environmental Staff Scientist to join our Portland, OR team!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Successful candidates will work with experience professional consultants in performing environmental assessment and remediation projects
  • As well as due diligence activities associated with property transactions and industrial hygiene sampling and inspection
  • Candidates should have completed a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, geology, or science
  • Be willing to work both as part of a team and independently in the office as well as in the field on small to large projects
  • Motivated candidates willing to learn and grow within an organization that have potential for advancement into project management should apply


Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, geology, or related science
  • Minimum 0-3 Years
  • Assist with Phase 1 and Phase II Environmental Assessments under the direction of a senior consultant
  • Perform subsurface investigations, field mapping, borehole logging, and aerial photograph analysis,
  • Conduct and document field activities such as soil and groundwater sampling, installation of soil borings and monitoring wells, interviews, and tank excavations and/or removals,
  • Conduct hazardous material and inspections and remedial oversight and assist with report preparation.
  • Research site-specific information using online resources
  • Design figures, charts, and tables
  • Complete environmental reports, permit applications, and other technical documents
  • Assist clients with complying with local, regional, state, and federal regulations.


Technical Requirements:
  • Technical writing experience
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification Optional
  • AHERA Building Inspector certification Optional


Other miscellaneous qualities:
  • Experience using field equipment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Positive, flexible team-oriented approach
  • Detail oriented, resourceful
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel (40-50%)
