Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive EH&S programs and initiatives that comply with regulatory requirements and promote employee participation and accountability
Examples include contractor safety, isolation of hazardous energy, chemical management, and emergency procedures, among others
Identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage or environmental impacts using safety standards, best management practices, and analytical techniques
Develop and conduct training in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
Ensure proper documentation of training
Assist sites in performing job safety analysis and developing safe work procedures
Conduct safety and environmental inspections and implement corrective actions
Conducts inspections and ensures proper management of: Hazardous waste tank and ancillary equipment
Collect data, provide information and reports as needed to support the Client's compliance programs
Participate and conduct EH&S audits across sites
Participate and/or lead incident/accidents investigation, root-cause analysis, recordkeeping, and follow-up
Make recommendations for prevention based on results of investigations
Monitor recordkeeping and reporting performance for Risk related requirements and objectives
Ensure that appropriate site and business specific programs are implemented, documented and standardized to effectively and efficiently meet CPI/KPI's and legal requirements

Desired Skills & Experience:

5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience Developing safety protocols and checklists
Experience with confined space entry, blockout/lockout procedures, energy control
