Auron Therapeutics aims to cure cancer by radically changing the paradigm of cancer therapeutics from cell killing to transformation of malignant cells into more normal functioning cells. This transformation, called differentiation therapy, reactivates endogenous cellular programs to elicit tumor cell maturation and reprogram cancer tissue towards a normal phenotype. In July 2022 we announced the completion of our $48 million Series A financing round.

We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated biologist to join a high performance, cross-disciplinary team working towards discovery of unique anti-cancer compounds. The candidate will be creative with a strong desire to succeed at the highest level. In this role you will be hands on in the lab; designing, executing and presenting data in support of our target discovery programs. You will interact and collaborate cross-functionally with scientists while growing your understanding of drug discovery and help bring medicines to patients.

  • Independently design and perform cell and molecular biology experiments to drive drug development
  • Contribute insight toward experimental findings and trouble-shoot laboratory processes and protocols
  • Receive and process laboratory specimens following standard methods and procedures with superb attention to detail
  • Perform target validation experiments to help identify new targets and cancer indications to advance preclinical development of our programs
  • Optimize and conduct cell-based mechanism of action studies to better understand how our drug candidates are affecting cell differentiation
  • Maintain a detailed and organized lab notebook of procedures, results and conclusions
  • Carefully analyze experimental data, derive conclusions and discuss results with a multidisciplinary team
  • Collaborate with CROs for outsourcing needs
  • Maintain a well-organized, safe and inclusive laboratory environment
  • Flexibility to accommodate multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines and perform other duties as assigned

  • Adept with qPCR, western blot, and cell proliferation experiments (e.g. MTT, CTG, IncuCyte)
  • Proficient with molecular biology techniques, lentiviral preparation and transduction, gene knockdown/overexpression
  • Effective communication skills, including gathering information from different team members, communicating with suppliers, writing protocols, and summarizing results in reports and presentations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
  • Self-driven and strong team player with proven track record

  • MS/BS, 2+ years of industry experience in drug discovery (title is dependent on experience level)
  • Exceptional aseptic technique, mammalian tissue and cell culture skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
  • Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to learn and work in a team-based environment
