Senior Research Associate, Molecular Biology

Location: Waltham, MA

HireMinds is partnered with an established biotech team in Waltham, MA that uses an RNA small molecule platform to develop drug candidates for a variety of diseases including neurological, immune, and cancer patients in need. You will bring your experience the lab to develop a variety of molecular and cellular assays and conduct studies in RNA biology focus. You'll Be Responsible For:

• Conducting regular mammalian cell culture including cell line maintenance, and organization of cell banks.

• Hands-on expertise in Cell based assays including: reporter assays, proliferation, toxicity, transient/stable transfections.

• Ability to adhere to protocols for protein extraction, immunoblotting, RNA/DNA extraction from mammalian cell lines

• Helping with design and execution of RT-PCR and qPCR and gene sequencing protocols for gene expression and splice variant detection.

• Working with scientific team in the design and execution of RNAi and CRISPR genome editing experiments.

• Experience with advanced assays including Flow cytometry and/or microscopy.

• Working closely with management in the design, development, and execution of experiment protocols or suggest improvements.

• Recording all data and results in paper or electronic systems and have ability to analyze data findings.

You'll Bring With You:

• MS with 3+ years or BS with 5+ years of industry Biotech or Pharmaceutical experience in molecular or cellular biology (Sr. RA or Principal RA titles will be considered pending experience).

• Expertise with molecular biology will be relied upon.

• Experience in the cancer biology or RNA biology space is a huge plus.

• Exhibited career experiences with automated liquid handling instrumentation and high-throughput assays is desired.

• Ability to work under evolving demands and deadlines within collaborations to achieve the team's goals.
