Responsibilities:
Requirements:
- Develop, coordinate, and administer the implementation of IFM operations safety programs based on a management system approach.
- Ensure that preventative maintenance, repairs, and testing of equipment follow client Standards and safety procedures.
- Ensure accountability, transparency, cross-functionality, and effective communication within the facilities and EHS department while ensuring that information is timely, clear, and accurate.
- Communicate any safety or environmental deviations to Mentor and client Facilities and EHS departments.
- Ensure compliance work orders are reviewed and completed in a timely manner each month.
- Ensure coordination and retention of compliance documentation (inspection forms, training logs, JHAs, HRW Permits).
- Chemical management: verify compliance with HMIS and GHS labeling of chemicals used at the facility. Ensure Contractor SDS compliance. Complete chemical approval forms for new chemicals introduced by Mentor or contractors.
- Oversee refrigerant management in RCM and collect/retain refrigerant management documentation.
- Oversee compliance of Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program for solvent systems onsite.
- Oversee compliance of SPCC program for diesel generator onsite.
- Administer the implementation of Contractor Management requirements for Mentor contractors and subcontractors.
- Regularly completes facility safety and health walkthroughs.
- Educates the team during and after the audits/evaluations regarding issues and concerns that need improvement or change. This includes regularly scheduled safety walks.
- Analyze accidents and near misses, and search for patterns to establish corrective actions and reduce the potential for future accidents.
- Contribute to a safe and quality working environment through training, awareness, and compliance to company policy and Federal/State/Local regulations as well as ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained properly.
- Monitors relevant and applicable regulations and accepted best industry practices and recommends programs, systems, and corrective action for application at assigned site and if applicable for enterprise-wide consideration.
- Investigate and prepare required reports of EHS system performance including but not limited to investigation reports, injury reports, insurance claims, performance metric reports, etc.
- Conduct an investigation of incidents, near misses, and property damage incidents. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and proper records/documents are maintained.
- Maintain and file the Near Miss, Management of Change forms and nonconformance's report, Ergo Assessments.
- Prepare monthly inspections and audits of EHS programs and follow-up of corrective actions in the Inspection Action Plan.
- Conduct, coordinate and track various training to support company programs.
- Conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Maintain internal and regulatory reporting including data collection and reporting including but not limited to air, stormwater, and surface water discharge
- Ensure accountability, transparency, cross-functionally, and effective communication within the EHS Department while ensuring that information is timely, clear, and accurate.
- Ensure the company meets all its legislative compliance obligations with OSHA, EPA, AQMD, ADA, and fire codes.
- Serve as primary contact for all regulatory agencies for inspections, permitting, and reporting (air, water, waste).
- Maintain compliance with permits, government regulations, and other industry practices.
- Other duties and participation in special projects as required or assigned by the manager, upper management, or the client.
Requirements:
- 5-9 years of direct experience in the Environmental, Health, and Safety program is required.
- Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, or construction is highly preferred
- Previous experience working within the regulated industry (pharmaceutical, medical devices, biotechnology, and consumer) is highly preferred.
- High familiarity with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations and cGMP procedures.
- Thorough understanding of EHS procedures.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Project software.
- Working knowledge of hazard assessments, emergency response planning, and the ability to develop & deliver effective training
- Working knowledge of incident investigation processes and requirements
- Working knowledge of principles of ergonomics in an industrial setting.
