Amplifybio is a newly established, commercially focused preclinical CRO that was created as a Battelle spin-off. Aligned with, and supported by leading life sciences-focused investors, we partner with our clients to provide preclinical CRO services from single study and through full IND enabling studies. Amplifybio is currently looking to hire an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our growing team!!!

Our Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for functioning as the technical expert in Environmental Health and Safety for Amplifybio.

What You'll do Here:

• Support Environmental Health and Safety Programs (such as waste management, air monitoring, process safety, and hazardous materials).
• Participate in health and safety reviews of novel test articles, site safety procedures and practices.
• Support the site required Environmental and Safety training modules, procedure, and policy development. Ensure compliance with federal and local government health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Support EHS inspection programs.
• Collect and maintain data for EHS KPIs.
• Assist with training for new hires and provide ongoing training and support for all employees.
• Provide support and direction to employees in complying with policies and programs for safety to include the identification of potential safety and health hazards.
• Prepare incident reports and communicate with affected employees and management.
• Coordinate hazardous materials inventories and reporting.
• Comply with all job specific safety procedures and utilize PPE when necessary.
• Utilize applicable software systems as needed (e.g., Veeva, Cayuse, etc.).
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

We Would Love to Hear from You If:

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Sciences or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
• At least 3 years' experience in environmental health and safety.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and local applicable EHS governmental regulations.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Experience with GLP processes and procedures.
• Experience with various monitoring equipment to include:
• gas, noise, radiation, and chemical detection meters and passive badges.
• Professional certification such as: Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) etc.
