Interpret basic aspects of permits, assist field staff in interpreting permit conditions, and coordinate with more senior staff regarding complex permit requirements. Complete basic technical reports, collaborate with GIS specialist to document field findings and conditions, source written and electronic sources for species and habitat descriptions, and analyze/compile portions of technical studies and report elements for EIR or Permit application.
Conduct field biological surveys focused on inventory and identification of biological species. Identify individual protected species and their respective habitats, nests, dens, burrows, tracks, and all other evidence for sign of occupation or use. Take field notes and provide written analysis of findings from field settings. Use handheld GPS, tablets, and other related tools to conduct field surveys at remote job sites. Work directly with client staff, contractors, construction crews, and environmental professionals during construction compliance monitoring. Work at remote locations including overnight travel to conduct field studies, avian mortality studies, and other related field-work. Work on all aspects of surveys, trapping, protocol studies, and other focused searches involving extensive field-work.
