Research Associate, Molecular Biology (Contract)

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assisting with the organization and execution of the company's Platform for controlled, cellular reprogramming within R&D
  • Working within the R&D team to perform high resolution genomic profiling of bulk and single cells in cellular reprogramming experiments
  • Performing nucleic acid extraction and library preparation for next generation sequencing (NGS) analysis of epigenetic and transcriptomic signatures
  • Designing and implementing of epigenetic reprogramming experiments utilizing transcription factors and epigenetic editing
  • Performing detailed documentation and presentation of protocols and data
  • Overseeing lab equipment maintenance and consumables stocking


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 1-2+ years of molecular biology experience in a research lab
  • Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques for nucleic acid extraction, quantification, and amplification
  • Experience with next generation sequencing and long read sequencing library preparation approaches
  • Experience with single cell genomics techniques such as RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, Perturb-Seq
  • Experience with design and implementation of gene editing experiments using CRISPR/CAS9 tools
  • Strong attention to detail and impeccable organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to excel in a team-first, supportive work environment, and clearly articulate ideas, problems, and solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in early-stage technology development with demanding schedules and deliverables.
  • Experience with genetic engineering and cellular payload delivery including transduction and transfection is a PLUS
  • Experience with epigenetic reprogramming approaches using CRISPR/CAS9 is a PLUS
  • Laboratory setup and operations management is a PLUS
  • Familiarity with cell biology tools and concepts, such as: multicolor flow cytometry, fluorescent microscopy, MACS, ELISA is a PLUS


EDUCATION
  • B.S. in Molecular Biology or related scientific discipline
  • M.S. degree is a plus
