Reports to Global Environmental Director

40-50% of travel


This position leads the global Environmental function for the Insulation Business. This position is responsible for focusing on standards, risk assessments, and compliance evaluations to minimize environmental aspects and impacts; communicating/implementing best practices; ensuring global environmental compliance; achieve environmental footprint reduction goals. In collaboration with the Corporate Environmental Director, Environmental and Regulatory Law, and Insulation Environmental team, this position assures contemporary environmental functional excellence through employee training & development, the Environmental Management System, and EHS Pillar team leadership.

Span of Control The Global Environmental Leader provides strategic leadership to all Insulation plants in the Americas and Europe.

Minimum Qualifications

Undergraduate degree required (EH&S or science/engineering); advanced degree preferred

Broad knowledge of U.S. and international environmental regulations

10+ years of experience serving as an environmental manager, technical resource, program specialist, or program manager

Experience leading change in multiple site environments and the ability to influence those that are not direct reports or within your organization

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with Directors and VP's

Experience implementing and maintaining an Environmental Management System


Success in leading large, matrix organizations across geographically diverse areas

Experience working in a mature ISO 14000 Environmental Management System (or equivalent) environment

Experience working in a mature TPM or similar operating system

Experience working with external parties including suppliers and regulatory authorities strongly preferred

Demonstrated ability to execute with agility across ideation, evaluation and action while effectively leveraging cross-functional team connections to get meaningful work done with speed, accuracy and results

Ability to lead and drive change across teams, functions, businesses

Ability to build, lead, and develop strong teams through collaboration, connection, and inspiration

Ability to translate complex technical needs/requirements into clear actions for execution

Strong organization skills, manages competing priorities and keeps stakeholders well-informed

Comfortable with ambiguity and will influence without authority
