Location: Mountain View, CA

Salary: $80-$90K

Requirements: Sterile Cell-Culture Techniques, Plate Readers, 96/384-Well Microplate-based assays, Luminescence/Fluorescence

We are an early-stage biotech startup that aims to quantify taste and smell using synthetic biology and data science. Our technology uses human olfactory and taste receptors in cell-based assays to replicate the biology of the human nose and tongue. Applications include food & beverage, alternative proteins, pharma, disease diagnostics, agriculture, automotive, and consumer packaged goods.

We are looking for RA and SRA candidates to join our team!

What You Will Be Doing

As a Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate, you will design and implement a high throughput workflow to study the functions of olfactory and

taste receptors and assist in expanding our database while performing assays in a standardized workflow.

Responsibilities
  • Design, establish and apply high throughput workflow for functional cell-based assays for internal and customer-facing projects
  • Perform regular screening tasks and follow experimental protocol with minimal supervision
  • Work collaboratively with the Automation team to interpret and optimize research-grade assays on automated systems
  • Assist with troubleshooting method development for sample preparation
  • Generate or revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Record experiments and data with immaculate details in Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN)
  • Deliver results for time-sensitive projects
What You Need for this Position

Qualifications
  • BS/MS Degree
  • Mammalian Cell Culture experience/Sterile Cell-Culture Techniques
  • Maintenance of stocks, passage, seeding, and transfection for functional assays
  • Experience with plate readers and 90/384-well microplate-based assays using luminescence or fluorescence read-outs
Preferred
  • GCPRs
  • Lab automation and liquid handlers
  • Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) preferred
  • Bioinformatic analysis, Python coding, Statistical Analysis
  • Excel or GraphPad Prism
