Overall Purpose:

The EHS Associate IV is located at one of five DLC Service Centers and provides technical and regulatory complianceexpertise and support for all business lines. Supports industrial hygiene, environmental, health & safety complianceactivities through directparticipation in audits, studies, investigations, and reports. Responsible for maintenance and administration of select Company programs, and management of internal and external resources allocated toEnvironmental, Health and Safety (EHS).

The positions will be filled at our Edison and McKessport service centers.

Job Responsibilities:


    Support DLC efforts to continuously improve its safety culture by participating in activities and on cross-functional teams.
    Support EHS Managers in achieving overall regulatory complianceof Company activities. Stays current on all newand proposed federal and state regulations. Writes and revises company procedures asassigned to comply with regulations.
    Responsible for supporting EHS compliance by conducting fieldaudits, as required; and to ensure that Company policies and procedures are beingfollowed.
    Lead and support EHS project initiatives as assigned.
    Investigate incidents. Identify root causes of issues and developcorrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Write reports detailing investigation andrecommend preventive measures.
    Assist in maintaining incident database, producing reports, analyzing trends, and responding to inquiries about company performance, including OSHA recordkeeping.
    Design, manage, and conduct industrial hygiene field activities related to workerexposures, including, but not limited to, air and noise sampling, area noise, fit testing, asbestos,lead wipe surveys, IAQ investigations, and heat stress as appropriate.
    Complete associated reports to include evaluation and prioritization of risk and develop and assist with implementing corrective and preventive action plans.
    Prepare and conduct EHS training sessions (live and virtual) as needed to support Companypolicies and procedures, including preparing of training materials
    1-2 weeks a month to "as needed or assigned on a rotating basis throughout the year".
    Reporting location will be McKeesport or Edison Service Centers, depending on role selected.
    Other duties as assigned.

    Education/Experience Requirements:

    Roles at this level require a university degree, with 5+ years of relevant experience. Certifications such as ASP, CSP or CIH desired.

    Skills:


      Strong Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
      Familiarity with common hazard and exposure assessment methods, including industrial hygiene sampling and monitoring.
      Ability to analyze and develop strategies to efficiently schedule and manage projects.
      Ability to become proficient in environmental requirements, IH and safety policies & procedures as they apply to the Company.
      Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
      Strong organizational and time management skills.
      Ability to present in a professional manner and represent the company image.
      Be able to acquire and maintain certifications to support job functions.
      A team focused individual with a continuous improvement mindset.

      Problems and issues faced are often vague and require good professional judgement to resolve. Draws on significant experience to perform role. Proficient in the body of knowledge of given discipline or specialty area. Accountable for appropriate level of reasoning and decision making.

      Scope:

      Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs, and reporting to assist operational leaders across all business lines in meeting their EHS responsibilities. Typically, accountable for managing one's own time and workflow. Responsibilities are generally tactical in nature and work is typically of moderate to complex in nature requiring the incumbent to draw on previous experience to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base but has a solid foundation to act independently most of the time. Still draws on experts and managers when needed but less frequently.

      Physical Requirements:

      Ability to communicate with others both written and orally.Valid driver's license and good driving record required.Able to travel as required.Mobility within the office and on construction job sites.
