Position Summary

This Senior/Principal scientist role will be a key contributor to research activities and to some projects related to ongoing clinical trials. While working within a small team of Ph.D.-level computational scientists, the individual will also interface with biologists and sometimes clinicians. Projects will be fast paced and require both experience in statistical analysis and skill at finding innovative solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

·Ingestion of diverse omics data types (RNAseq, Proteomics and Metabolomics) and assays

·Statistical analyses of small and large datasets

·Implementation of predictive models (logistic regressions, random forests…) and cross validation of models

·Analyses combining omics data and prior knowledge (databases of functional categories, protein networks…)

·Reports via markdown pages

·Presentation of analysis results

·Contribution to infrastructure-related programming (import of databases and R-shiny apps)

·Experimental design in collaboration with biologists

· Required competencies :

· 8+ years of programming

· Fluent in at least one of R, Python, C or Java

· Algorithms (some knowledge of CLRS)

· Statistics and good foundation in probability theory

· Experience with classification, regression and cross-validation techniques

· Ability to work in a small team of computational scientists with strong emphasis on collaboration

· Desire to collaborate with and learn from biologists

· Take ownership of data analysis projects

· AWS, cloud computing

· Knowledge of biology

Education and Experience

·At least 5 five years of work experience. Industry preferred. Experience in Biotech/Tech a plus.

·Ph.D. in Statistics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences or Physics

·MS/BS in Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences
