Mitra Chem is a Silicon Valley startup working at the intersection of machine learning and battery development. We live at the cutting-edge of battery technology and aim to deliver world-class materials for the EV market within the next few years. Our goal is to be the first lithium-ion battery materials manufacturer to shorten the lab-to-production timeline by >90% through accelerated R&D and vertically integrated process optimization. We will first focus on Li-ion battery cathodes, converting them from commodity chemicals into a product platform, customized for different applications. We are setting up a state-of-the-art 15,000 sq ft industrial R&D center (located in the San Francisco Bay Area).

We are looking for a Lab Technician to perform a variety of support tasks throughout the lab and facility.
Description
* Assemble piping and mechanical systems based on instructions, sketches, and drawings.
* Assist engineers in developing methods and procedures.
* Execute procedures in the laboratory with minimal supervision.
* Receive, uncrate, transport, and assemble equipment.
* Clean laboratory glassware and tools.
* Empty satellite waste containers.
* Perform a variety of facilities tasks including handling shipments, minor repairs and maintenance.
* Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
* Log maintenance tasks performed in CMMS.
* Receive and check-in chemicals in our inventory system.
* Conduct chemical inventories throughout the lab.
* Conduct inventories of assets and compare against CMMS.
* Maintain stock of consumables ranging from sample vials, to machine screws, to tubing hardware.
* Participate in safety duties including conducting inspections, safe work practices, and helping other staff to work safely.
Qualifications
* Experience working in laboratory or industrial environments.
* Clear written and verbal communication.
* Congenial and friendly relationship with coworkers.
* Ability to lift, squat, kneel, use step ladders, manipulate hand and power tools.
* Basic computer skills including using email, creating and editing spreadsheets and documents in G-Suite and MS Office.
