Boundless Impact Research & Analytics (Boundless) is seeking a Senior Environmental Data Analyst with an environmental science or engineering background and experience with life cycle assessment (LCA) and/or techno-economic analysis (TEA). The candidate will perform statistical analysis, create environmental and financial metrics, present findings to customers, and produce substantiated recommendations. The candidate must have strong quantitative analysis and modeling skills, with the ability to compile, structure, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data.

This role will involve collaborating with the research team, technology development team, and company leaders to document processes, identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system designs and modifications, and develop policies for data governance. The candidate will work with corporate customers and the Boundless team.

The scores and metrics derived are trustworthy and reliable because they are unbiased and validated by external industry and/or scientific experts. Boundless has the capabilities to perform rapid (and screening) LCA, LCA consistent with ISO 14040, and Scope 1,2,3 inventories.
Boundless has completed assessments of dozens of cleantech products and projects- alongside competing technologies- ranging from renewable energy, circular economy, HVAC and disinfection technologies, bioenergy and bioproducts, and innovative water and wastewater technologies. The resulting company reports frequently influence investor decisions.
Responsibilities

* Identify and understand environmental performance through forecasting, gap analysis, quantitative research, and statistical analysis
* Conduct data analysis and statistical modeling
* Assist with developing and improving clear environmental and financial impact metrics
* Create and maintain process maps for each of our analytical products, updating to reflect changes in our methodology and logic
* Provide recommendations to improve and productize internal workflows
* Oversee data extraction, transformation, and loading of key data sources to our databases
* Create documentation to support database design, functionality, and specification so stakeholders can understand the steps of the data analysis process and replicate the analysis if necessary
* Conduct scientific research on the environmental impacts of activities throughout the supply chain of a wide range of industry sectors, in order to support life cycle assessment reports.
* Support Boundless documentation through PowerPoint presentations and technical research reports;
* Attend project calls, respond to customer questions, demands, and needs

The Candidate will be empowered to make an important contribution in environmental sustainability and be a key part of our research team. The analyst must readily take initiative, be forward-thinking about follow through and anticipate the needs of research & technical analysis projects. This position will play a critical cross-functional role in understanding and documenting the processes of the business and mapping out our technology strategy to automate them. It requires a natural ability to get along with people and establish strong and meaningful relationships with others, guaranteeing successful collaboration across company personnel in order to integrate and accelerate the productization of our research and analytics. He/she will be expected to prepare various written client deliverables, prioritize, meet deadlines, work independently and be a self-starter that thrives in a start-up environment. This position is full-time.

Qualifications

* Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related academic qualifications
* At least 5 years professional experience in a research or analyst role
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantitative data analysis and statistical modeling
* Experience with life cycle assessment (LCA), techno-economic analysis, and carbon accounting
* Ability to manipulate large, complex data sets using a variety of software applications (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Excel), including the use of relational databases
* General interest in impact investing; environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG); and corporate social responsibility
* A critical thinker with attention to detail and the ability to work with large datasets
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing skills a must
* Self-motivated, resourceful, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
* A creative problem solver who can apply innovative solutions to data challenges
