We are seeking a (Microbiology Laboratory Assistant) for our Biologics Testing Solutions site located in Malvern, PA. You may be required to work a rotating shift schedule that may require weekend hours.

The responsibilities of this role as Microbiology Laboratory Assistant will be specific to the Micro Testing and Sterile Services division of the Microbiology department. Daily activities and responsibilities of this role will include but is not limited to laboratory cleanings, solution prep, and room and equipment monitoring.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performance of the following as applicable: prepare media and laboratory solutions; prepare and titrate microbial and viral stocks; prepare and stain spot slides.
Perform cleaning and monitoring of laboratories and equipment.
Order, log in, and restock supplies

Remove laboratory waste

Coordinate shipments
Make detailed observations and maintain clear, accurate and timely documentation of all laboratory work.
Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company policies and procedures.
Actively participate in laboratory maintenance.
Efficiently organize, prioritize, and plan work schedule.
Interact with personnel in and outside of department.
Assist with cleanroom cleanings.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years of related college coursework preferred.

Related experience preferred

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Knowledge of cGMPs or regulatory affairs pertaining to the pharmaceutical and biological industries is a plus.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to maintain communication across biological functional groups.
Able to communicate effectively (oral and written) in a small group or one on one setting.
Basic Microsoft Office skills are a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to regularly wear safety equipment and clothing in compliance with OSHA regulations and company SOPs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Regularly record data by hand or on a computer terminal.

Must be able to regularly stand approximately 4 hours a day.

Must regularly operate a computer and occasionally operate other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Must be able to regularly communicate with other personnel and sponsors regarding all aspects of the day to day operations of the Laboratory.
Must be able to regularly read and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Regularly stand, walk, bend, reach overhead, push/pull and occasionally lift/carry objects of up to 50 lbs.
