We are looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join Kaiser Aluminum Sherman Operations in Sherman, TX!

This position is responsible for ensuring that job safe practices (JSPs) are in place for all positions and that employees are knowledgeable about the safety issues relevant to their work. Additionally, this position ensures compliance with environmental rules and regulations.

What you will work on:
  • Responsible for the development of Best in Class work environment that is free of safety hazards
  • Routinely review the facility for unsafe conditions and environmental concerns, and ensure resolution of those concerns
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA and MIOSHA regulations
  • Conduct or coordinate safety training as required
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective ergonomic program
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations for waste generation and storm water permitting
  • Lead the development of environmentally friendly practice
  • Serve as champion of the ISO-14001 EMS program
  • Utilize KPS tools for problem resolution
  • Work with other departments as required to effectively resolving environmental, health and safety issues.

What you will bring to the position:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field, OR equivalent relevant experience is required
  • 7+ years of EHS experience is required
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skill
  • CSP, CPEA or equivalent Certifications are a plus

Measures of Performance
  • An acceptable TCIR level
  • ISO-14001 system compliance
  • No OSHA or MIOSHA violations
  • Compliance with environmental rules and regulations
  • 5 core/5 life audit compliance

About you:
  • Be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ensure safety policies are enforced stringently and set identifiable goals and objectives for the staff.
  • Communicate with upper management on trends on plant performance, forecasts for future performances, and other issues.
  • Ensure compliance to all budgets and manage communication for all management and supervise performance for same.
