We are currently seeking a Sr. Regulatory Environmental Specialist for our site in Calvert City, KY.

What you will do:

This position is responsible for facilitating environmental, health, and safety within the organization as well as is responsible for the development, maintenance, and improvement of the environmental compliance system for the facility, and ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, Local, and Corporate EHS policies and standards. It is the responsibility of each employee to know, understand, and diligently practice our EH&S and Security policies and practices.

Develop, maintain, and improve environmental plans, procedures, and training systems as necessary to ensure ongoing compliance including: Waste minimization, RCRA contingency, SPCC, Miscellaneous NESHAPs, and PVC MACT. Monitor changes programs and adjust systems to properly respond.
Organize, review, and audit records/systems to ensure complete and accurate reporting. Prepare and submit accurate reports as required by government agencies and Wacker.
Evaluate projects for permitting requirements, complete permit applications/modification, and negotiate agreeable permit terms with agencies.
Respond to on-site and off-site environmental incidents both during normal work hours and nights/weekends including Incident evaluation and coordination of mitigation activities: Timely and accurate reporting to Facility Management; State, Local, Federal Agencies; Risk/Liability reduction activities and decision making. Collaborate with external companies on-site to resolve environmental issues. Support maintenance and operating plants as needed in resolving issues.
Collaborate with corporate specialists to develop and implement best practices.
Represent the site at various company and public meetings if needed.
Work with other site and complex tenants with regards to EHS matters.

What we need from you:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental, or Occupational Safety and Health; MS Preferred
7 + years of related professional experience
RCRA, Method 9, and DOT Hazardous Materials certifications
Understanding of applicable computer systems such as MS Office (including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to read, comprehend, and apply complex regulations and permit terms/conditions and convey these requirements to site personnel verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Ability to work cooperatively with plant, corporate and regulatory personnel at all levels
Ability to represent company at community meetings.
Highly developed communication skills - both written and verbal
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to facilitate troubleshooting efforts and team meetings
Ability to run several projects and programs concurrently
Working knowledge of Air Emissions Modeling such as Emission Master
Working knowledge of the Clean Air Act (Title V program) and Clean Water Act (NPDES program)
Ability to coordinate waste activities for all site wastes. These duties include container selection, RCRA inspections, waste profiling, transportation paperwork, and annual reporting/permitting
Ability to maintain all environmental procedures and documents such as those pertaining to waste, water, and air.
Ability to obtain various EHS certifications and credentials, which may include but is not limited to: RCRA Hazardous Waste Management, Method 9 Visible Emissions, DOT Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper, TWIC Card, Certified PHA Facilitator, Certified ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor, GSP/ASP/CSP or other.
