Description of Job
Position is responsible for accepting hunter-harvested deer and elk heads, collecting data, payment and samples for chronic wasting disease (CWD) testing. Position is also responsible for driving relay routes to transport hunter-harvested deer and elk from collection sites to research sampling sites in all weather conditions. Training is provided on how to remove tissue samples from deer and elk for CWD testing and to perform mandatory inspections of hunter-harvested moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, black bears and mountain lions.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
* Valid driver's license required.
* Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and lift 50lbs.
* Ability to interact positively with the public in various situations.
* Weekend and evening work may be required.
* Hunting and fishing experience helpful.
* Applicants may be subject to successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
* Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
* Effective September 20, 2021, employees will be required to attest to and verify
whether or not they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Employees who have not been
fully vaccinated may be required to submit to serial testing in the future. Upon hire,
new employees will have three (3) business days to provide attestation to their status
with proof of vaccination. Vaccinated employees must provide proof of vaccination.
NOTE: Fully Vaccinated means two (2) weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series of the COVID-19 vaccine, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two (2) weeks after the single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine, as defined by the most recent State of Colorado's Public Health Order and current guidance issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.
