The New Target Interrogation group is looking for an outstanding scientist to join our team who focused on discovering innovative therapeutic hypothesis and novel biology in the field of solid and liquid cancers. The main focus of this role will be to design and execute experiments aimed at functionally validating genetic variants and at exploring their mechanism of action. The ideal candidate will be responsible of designing, execution and analysis of in vivo and in vitro experiments using a wide spectrum of established and innovative experimental techniques.

As a Scientist on the New Target Interrogation Group, a typical day might include:
  • Design, plan, and independently perform in vivo experiments by using mouse models to dissect sophisticated molecular phenotypes associated with human genetic findings in cancer and related disorders.
  • Implement novel technologies and experimental approaches in human cell-based systems, for molecular and characterization of new genetic variants associated to disease phenotypes.
  • Independently design and perform a variety of in vitro/ex vivo cell-based assays.
  • Perform flow cytometry analysis on human and murine cells and tissues.
  • Data analysis from RNASeq, scRNASeq and other omics using standard analysis packages available online.
  • Document procedures and results in a well-organized fashion; generate experimental reports.
  • Analyze results across experiments and projects, formulate therapeutic hypotheses and communicate findings and ideas via presentations in group and senior leader meetings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the company to support the drug development pipeline.

This role might be for you if:
  • You enjoy and are passionate about bench science for drug discovery.
  • You possess excellent problem-solving abilities and are results driven.
  • You can excel in a fast-track environment while in charge of multiple projects.

To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD and 2+ years post doc or industry experience. We seek a candidate with a background in cellular and molecular biology, cancer biology, cancer genetics, cancer immunology or related field. Experience with cell culture (both primary cells and established cell lines), and a variety of in vitro/ex vivo cancer and immune cell-based assays is critical. Experience in omics data analysis is strongly preferred. Documented strong scientific record, excellent communication and presentation skills.
