Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities and lower carbon emissions. This is a greenfield project, which is expected to be fully operational in 2025. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located on the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

The Environmental Engineer is involved in: preparing air, water and waste permits, permit compliance, engineering, auditing, training, reporting, monitoring, and project management. This role also includes managing an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, managing the Radiation Safety program, overseeing contractors, conducting environmental training, tracking on-site waste generation, waste disposal, recycling, and energy use. This individual will also maintain compliance with site SPCC plan, perform disposal/recycling facility audits, work with and build relationships with Environmental Regulators, complete EPCRA/Form R regulatory reports, interpret environmental regulations, and plan community outreach and education activities. This position will require some travel.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Industrial, consulting or regulatory experience in environmental engineering, environmental compliance, environmental management, or some combination thereof.
* Solid understanding of air pollution control equipment, water and wastewater systems and continuous emission monitoring equipment including design, operation and maintenance.
* ISO 14001 :2004 knowledge and audit experience.
* Radiation Safety Officer training and experience.
