Job Description
About the role:
Provides molecular biology and assay development support in target validation and drug discovery. Conducts 96/384 well assays of target function and determines potency of modulators of different modalities
Join Takeda as a Scientist I, Core Biology, based in San Diego, CA.
How you will contribute:
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Clone, express the potential drug targets and functionally characterize them.
Establish stable cell lines and determine function and pharmacology utilizing tool compounds and different modulators such as small molecules, antisense, siRNA, antibodies etc…
Initiates 96/384 well assays for discovering target biology and modulation
Identifies, plans and executes assay development projects for various disease targets
Utilizes relevant technologies internally and utilizes CROs to solve complex biological problems
Interprets results of complex experiments and presents to core biology teams and drug discovery units
Prepares and presents comprehensive technical or project reports and formal presentations / posters
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
PhD degree in a scientific discipline (or equivalent), or
MS with 6+ years relevant experience, or
BS with 8+ years relevant experience

Demonstrates theoretical and practical knowledge of biological assays - both biochemical and cell-based assays
