Job Summary
The Molecular Biology Research Associate will be a member of the team tasked with organizingand executing molecular biology experiments across different groups at Kallyope, as well asanalyzing data and presenting findings to relevant teams. Candidates should be highlymotivated, organized, and have previous experience in molecular biology. Prior experience withnucleic acid extraction and next generation sequencing is a plus. Successful candidates mustbe able to work effectively both in a collaborative setting and independently while possessingoutstanding written, visual, and oral communications skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize RNA extraction protocols from various tissues and sample types
  • Perform molecular biology experiments (qPCR, In situ hybridization, western blot) in support of multiple programs and functional areas
  • Assist with bulk and scRNA-seq experiments
  • Support implementation of new sequencing technologies
  • Analyze data and communicate results across teams
Qualifications & Education Requirements
You must have:
  • A Bachelors degree in biology or a similar field
  • Research laboratory experience, preferably in a molecular biology environment

Additional preferred experience includes:
  • qPCR
  • In situ hybridization
  • Western blot
  • Bulk RNA sequencing & single-cell sequencing
  • Flow cytometry
  • Experience with primary cells and tissue, particularly intestinal or neural
