BEPC has an open position for an Assistant Wetland Specialist in Fort Worth, TX

Work Location: Fort Worth, TX

Contract W2 Length (12 month contract with possibilities for extensions)

Description:

Conduct wetland assessments and delineations with strict adherence to federal and state environmental regulations.
Collect and analyze Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data using a Global Positioning System (GPS) and ArcGIS software.
Conduct field investigations such as habitat evaluations, endangered plant identification and surveys and soil sampling and classification.
Compile and analyze field data to compose technical reports.
Conduct annual wetland mitigation monitoring and post construction compliance inspections.
Research and prepare environmental or biological assessments and permitting documents.
Prepare reports and present results from field investigations.
Gather data and prepare applications for various regulatory approvals using current technologies (e.g. Survey123, wetland delineation data form software, MS Office Suite.
Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Wetland Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, Botany, Soil Science or a related field from an accredited program required.
Highly preferred to have 2 years of applicable professional experience conducting wetland assessments and delineations, analyzing GIS data, preparing environmental and/or biological assessments and permitting documents, conducting field investigations and associated work.
Completion of a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
Demonstrated proficiency operating GPS and GIS equipment and support software.
Previous consulting experience is a plus.
Previous experience conducting wetland delineations in the Midwest and Great Plains regions is a plus.
Basic knowledge of wetlands and aquatic resources.
Basic knowledge of Section 404, 401 and Section 10 permitting requirements.
Basic knowledge of the regulatory agencies that govern wetland resources.
Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
