Assist with the management, development and implementation of a comprehensive environmental, health and safety program to include, but not limited to: emergency response environmental and industrial hygiene sampling; hazardous waste management; and applicable environmental health and safety programs.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
Assist with the development, modification, implementation and management of a comprehensive and compliant environmental, health and safety program. Assist with the development, modification, implementation and management of a comprehensive hazardous, biological and universal waste management plan. Responsible for intake, shipping and recordkeeping of this waste. Assist with workers compensation insurance program to ensure that identified unsafe conditions or practices have been corrected. Assist with the development, modification, implementation and management of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures to comply with College and federal and state agency directives. Assist with risk management functions, as assigned, to include involvement with the development and implementation of business continuity and emergency response plans, investigating College incident and insurance matters, and collecting data for reporting purposes. Serve as a resource and internal consultant on issues related to the environment, health and safety. Assist with Environmental, Health and Safety budget development and management. Prepare, analyze, submit and maintain comprehensive records, reports, and statistical data related to environmental, health and safety services and programs and make recommendations as appropriate. Serve on the Safety and Security Committee and other committees as assigned. Serve as a liaison to fire departments and other governmental representatives related to safety. Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities and serve as resource for College. Minimum Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of state and federal environmental, health and safety standards Effective interpersonal communication skills - oral, written and listening Ability to manage time and organize work Ability to attend closely to detailed work, completing and maintaining a high level of accuracy Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse group of individuals including internal (staff, management, personnel) and external contacts (clients and vendors) Ability to research, implement and lead projects, instructing and training others Ability to work independently, as part of a team and/or with minimal supervision Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work processes Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discrete and professional manner Intermediate level computer software application skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases Required Education and Experience:
Associate's degree and five years of work experience in environmental, health, and safety or related field may be considered; Bachelor's degree preferred.

This is a full-time position, scheduled for Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
