Reporting to the Director of Direct Marketing, a unit within the Office of Development (OOD), the Marketing Specialist is responsible for participating in the development and implementation of marketing initiatives, enabling programs and campaigns to meet organizational objectives.

Direct Marketing :

The Office of Development's ("OOD") Direct Marketing team provides multi-channel integrated marketing support for Stanford University's Office of Development. Team members work in close collaboration with schools and units across campus, including: The Stanford Fund, Stanford Athletics & the Buck/Cardinal Club, Stanford Law School, School of Engineering, Graduate School of Education, School of Humanities & Sciences, Graduate School of Business, School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences, and the School of Medicine to achieve school and unit annual giving revenue goals.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Implement marketing programs to meet organizational objectives, including collaboration with internal stakeholders and vendor prtners.
  • Manage the design and production schedule of digital direct appeal campaigns which adhere to communications and brand strategy
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and analyze campaign/program effectiveness used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, audience segmentation and prospect targeting.
  • Assess market opportunities and research development & marketing trends
  • Monitor and oversee program budgets to meet program goals.
  • Coordinate vendor estimates and invoice processing.
  • Monitor and track analytics of campaigns to produce campaign/program reports.
  • Other duties may also be assigned.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of product, program and/or services marketing (development experience a plus).
  • Ability to work independently to meet expected deadlines and schedules.
  • Experience with managing projects from inception through completion.
  • Familiar with market research and data analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, speaking.
  • Occasionally grasp forcefully, writing by hand.
  • Rarely sort/file paperwork.
