Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated in vivo Sr. Research Associate to join our fast-growing Inflammation in vivo group at Gilead Sciences. The selected candidate will be responsible for daily execution of in vivo pharmacological studies to support pipeline and research advancement associated with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, such as lupus, IBD, arthritis, NASH and other fibrotic diseases.

Hands on experience with preclinical models is required. Experience with murine lupus, arthritis and IBD models are preferred. A successful candidate should be proficient in routine murine handling techniques including but not limited to IV, IP, PO, SC, retro-orbital bleed, and terminal cardiac sticks. Harvesting and processing tissues for ex vivo analysis are also required.

The candidate is expected to use preclinical disease models for therapeutic candidate optimization. A strong collaborative spirit and great communication skills are needed to a successful career. The candidate should be detail-oriented and highly organized to cope with the multi-tasking environment. The candidate will be willing to learn and grow both in technical skills and knowledge basis to adapt to the dynamic character of the industry research.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ yrs or MS
  • Proficiency in basic in vivo techniques
  • Laboratory animal experience in lupus, arthritis or IBD will be highly desirable.
  • Basic computer proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel is required, GraphPad Prism is preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with USDA regulations, laboratory animal welfare guidelines and AAALAC, International guidelines is a plus, but not required
