Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist, Engineer, or Geologist, Due Diligence Regional Project Manager to join the Environmental and Earth Systems team in Southern California! The ideal candidate excels working with a team, is self-directed, adaptable, entrepreneurial, and aligned with Rincon's core values and mission. The position involves working closely with the project team including Senior and Principal level practitioners, mid-level peers, clients, and junior staff. Typical duties include managing Due Diligence client needs and deadlines, proposal preparation, staff workloads, mentoring junior staff, and performing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA).

What Do You Get To Do In This Position:
  • Manage and track Due Diligence clients and projects within a specific market or region.
  • Coordinate with clients and our internal Due Diligence team to execute work efficiently and within schedule.
  • Scope, coordinate, and execute Phase I and Phase II ESAs for a variety of business sectors
  • Prepare Phase I ESAs, Initial Site Assessments (ISA), and Phase II ESAs with a focus on ASTM compliance, accuracy, clarity, succinctness, and document QA/QC
  • Evaluate, analyze, and synthesize technical data relative to project-specific clean-up goals
  • Work within a team to develop creative environmental project strategies and prepare Phase II ESA work scopes
  • Peer review Phase I ESAs or ISAs prepared by other consultants
  • Assist with the preparation of Initial Studies and other California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) related documents
  • Evaluate technical analytical data relative to project-specific clean-up goals or applicable screening levels
  • Conduct special assignments as directed by the supervisor.
  • Conduct site inspections and reconnaissance in support of environmental site assessments
  • Perform assignments of limited scope and complexity, usually as a portion of broader assignments, in accordance with established company policies/procedures.
  • Work with Project Managers and Principals in developing creative environmental project strategies and providing strong client representation and advocacy to regulatory agencies


This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:
  • Minimum B.A./B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or another related field
  • Familiar with Phase I ESA ASTM/AAI requirements
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER training preferred
  • At least 2 years of direct, relevant work experience in California
  • High motivation with excellent analytical, technical writing, and documentation skills
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, innovative, and strong time management skills
  • Ability to perform fieldwork, data collection, and evaluation
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills; with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
