As a member of the site leadership team, this position is responsible for leading Safety, Security, Health, Environment and regulatory compliance programs at Materia's Technical Center in Pasadena, California.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads the organization regarding SSHE systems, procedures, auditing, and practices.
  • Facilitates SSHE performance improvement efforts and reports KPIs.
  • Coordinates site assessments with group managers to monitor safety compliance.
  • Leads incident investigations.
  • Injury/illness case management
  • Analyze risk trends and manages SSHE programs according to risks.
  • Identifies applicable EPA, OSHA and DOT training needs and implements training plans.
  • Develops site specific SSHE training curriculum
  • Organize and schedule all necessary resources required to maintain compliance.
  • Represent the organization in community and industry EHSS groups and programs.
  • Acts as liaison with State, Federal and local agencies on SSHE issues.

Qualifications + Experience
  • Education:

B.S. Degree and relevant experience is required.
  • Experience:
  • 7+ Years in EHSS role at an organization that uses hazardous chemicals and performs hazardous chemical processes.
  • Chemical regulations, industry standards and practices
  • Familiarity with Cal/OSHA

  • Demonstrated ability to improve SSHE performance and maintain compliance status
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve regulatory compliance gaps
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to drive change across organization
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
