Overview:
In this position within the Target Biology and Translational Research group, the candidate will provide scientific leadership to understand the biology of drug targets and apply that understanding to the identification and translation of novel degraders in biomarker-selected patients. The candidate will direct pharmacology studies and translational research in collaborative efforts with the preclinical team and the clinical team. The role will involve significant interaction and collaboration within the company and with external partners. Responsibilities:
Co-lead interdisciplinary project teams and work with a team of scientists to support biology of the target, the selection of lead candidate molecules and transition into clinical development. Independently coordinate both internal and external (CRO) activities to optimize compound selection and explore the full therapeutic potential of drug targets.Design and develop in vitro and in vivo assays to define mechanism of action for compounds, identify pharmacodynamic assays with utility in pre-clinical and clinical setting, and test patient selection strategies.Direct supervision of a group of scientists performing cell biology and in vivo pharmacology studies Play a leading role in the Drug Discovery and Translational group by sharing ideas, data, and working closely with colleagues to ensure success of entire portfolio.Interface with external KOLs for input on disease hypothesis, translational models, clinical and regulatory landscape.Assist in the management of program budget and deliverables.Communicate data and strategies effectively to key stakeholders, including internal team members, senior management, and external partners

Qualifications:
PhD or equivalent in biology, pharmacology, or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant drug discovery/translational research experience in the biotech/industry and/or academic institutionsExperience in oncology cell biology and in vivo preclinical models to enable the development of novel small molecule glue degraders Track record of delivering candidate selection and in supporting IND filing would be an advantageExperience overseeing the development of relevant models by using new technologies, such as CRSPR, to engineer cell linesDemonstrated ability to use strong science to guide strategic directionProven track record of striving for high level of inter-disciplinary problem solving, innovation and scientific excellenceDemonstrated experience managing and leading teams, both directly and in matrix organizationsProven time management skills and ability to support multiple projectsStrong strategic and critical thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate (written and oral) complex data and its impact on program strategy
