We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong work ethic, appreciation for the value of working as a team and who understands the importance of strong client relationships.The successful Industrial Hygienist will primarily perform field surveys and report preparation for indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments, mold, moisture intrusion investigation, asbestos and lead-based paint. Evaluations performed by the team include work throughout the US, Canada and the Caribbean.

Responsibilities:
Industrial Hygenist Responsibilities:• Perform scientific field investigations for asbestos, mold, moisture intrusion, indoor air quality (IAQ), lead-based paint and other potential occupational health hazards• Perform field surveys and investigations, air monitoring and sampling, and maintain a strong field presence in project activities• Provide moisture mapping and water intrusion assessments, including for disaster response• Conduct project and air monitoring during contractor remediation, evaluate contractor work activities regarding occupant and worker health, regulatory guidelines and public safety• Operate various IH monitoring equipment such as noise dosimeters, photo-ionization detector (PID), and multi-gas monitors• Operate various IAQ monitoring equipment such as carbon monoxide meters, carbon dioxide meters and aerosol meters• Ensure project activities are conducted in accordance with job-specific requirements• Evaluate laboratory and field data to render conclusions and recommendations, as applicable• Prepare technical reports based on the interpretation of data, field observations and current regulations• Participate in meetings to discuss project activities and safety issues

Qualifications:
Industrial Hygenist Required Qualifications:• Associate or Bachelor's degree in applied sciences• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record• Proficient with MS Office suite and experience writing technical reportsDesirable Qualifications:• AHERA Building Inspector certification and experience performing asbestos surveys• Experience conducting moisture and mold investigations• Florida MRSA license• EPA Lead Inspector or Risk Assessor• AHERA Contractor Supervisor certifications and experience performing asbestos abatement air and project monitoring• NIOSH 582 certified PCM microscopist• CIEC certification or similar Personal Characteristics:• General knowledge of building construction• Skilled with the use of basic hand tools and equipment• Professional demeanor• Follows and accepts work rules and procedures• Ability to maintain composure at all times, think quickly, and respond appropriately during stressful situations• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to positively interact with staff at every level of the organization Working Conditions:• The worker is subject to activities that occur inside and outside• Travel is generally short-term (2-5 days), longer trips may be requested• Most work will be limited to the southeastern US, but additional travel is periodically required• Candidate will be required to complete a background check and drug screen• Candidate will be subject to a baseline medical exam and respiratory exam for fit testPhysical Requirements:• Periodic work in hot/humid environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, etc.)• Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds• Includes a variety of physical conditions such as climbing/working on ladders, boom lifts and roofs.
