Primary Purpose of the Position:
Provide environmental leadership at the plant site. Develop, guide & implements programs, processes & policies. Manage compliance to new & existing state & local regulations & requirements. Work closely with plant leadership, resolve findings & identify corrective/preventive actions. Develop & implement an audit system that measures environmental compliance to Goodyear policy, country, state & local regulations. In addition the role will identify innovation methods to reduce the cost & time compliance. The position will also work closely with the plant communication manager to ensure consistent & timely environmental messaging. The position will also represent the plant in negotiations with local, state & federal regulatory agencies. Develop & lead systems that will improve environmental compliance, performance & reduce cost. The role will understand complex environmental & sustainability requirements & develop plans that will reduce GHG, energy consumption, solvent usage, release to the environment & other internal/external requirements. Manage facility & process information & activities to ensure all required reporting, accurate & up-to-date. Establish systems that demonstrate social responsibility & meet our sustainability needs at the local plant level.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage & lead the Environmental Coordinator when identifying & applying applicable Federal, State & Local regulations.
Develop, implement & audit systems & procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
Conduct compliance evaluations & implement necessary changes to ensure all findings are resolved.
Research & identify permit requirements, calculate emissions, prepare applications & submit to regulatory authorities for approval.
Complete & track all required environmental regulatory reporting.

Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in technical/science major or engineering required
Bachelor's Degree, environmental engineering or chemical engineering desired

Experience:
5 years of industry experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
Approximately 2 years managing small to medium projects independently & approximately 2 years of managing large projects with assistance.
Solid experience creating & delivering cause & effect analysis.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of federal, state & local regulations & the determination of applicability.
Skills in planning, organizing & successfully completing projects.
Knowledge of financials - cost & return on investment.
Ability to effectively communicate by written, oral & presentations.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Lotus Notes.
