Responsibilities :
Overall Function The Project Manager will play a critical support role in the development, execution, and communication of programs for the Global Methane Science team within the Office of Chief Scientist (OCS). This position will work closely with members of OCS's methane science team to coordinate the development and implementation of science studies across different regions (i.e., North America, Europe, Asia). They will develop partnerships and foster collaboration among external research institutions and agencies, with the overall goal of supporting teams to collect, analyze, interpret, and ultimately disseminate scientifically robust and policy-relevant methane emissions data. The Project Manager reports to the Senior Director of Operations, OCS. Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and develop relationships with key stakeholders in academic, regulatory, and non-profit sectors with the goal of fostering relationships, gathering information, setting up and developing research project ideas, and recruiting partners.Create project workplans and ensure that varied teams stay on track to meet deliverables and objectives; develop and apply appropriate means for measuring project success; work with program financial analysts to track project budget.Manage relationships, write and negotiate agreements and scopes of work with technical vendors, academic partners, corporate partners and local community partners as needed.Independently troubleshoot problems where precedents are not always available using an original arrangement or interpretation of complex information or activities to arrive at logical conclusions.Coordinate and lead group meetings and organize research workshops with external partners.Lead and communicate various project goals and results to EDF staff, companies, policymakers, environmental groups, the media and the public through reports, interviews, presentations, and other methods.Translate program and project needs into actionable items to forward program decision-making and liaise with programs to facilitate information sharing, identify synergies, and improve collaboration.In addition to these responsibilities, this position will play an integral role in other activities including fundraising, evaluating and recommending new project ideas, disseminating and communicating project results, and being a team player in the development of a vibrant and entrepreneurial program.Contribute to projects' success by facilitating strong communication within project teams, within the web team and with stakeholders. This includes articulating project goals and keeping the team in sync on progress and desired results.Participate in advancing EDF DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values. QualificationsBachelor's degree and at least four years program or related experience, or advanced degree with at least two years of direct experience required.Experience or education related to environmental science/engineering and/or air pollution science a plus;Experience in project management and exceptional personal organization and attention to detail;Independent judgment required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload;Experience balancing the needs of multiple diverse stakeholders including regulators, industry, and community organizations; Strong ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, both independently and as a member of multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast-paced and creative environment;Ability to communicate complex and technical subject matter both in writing and orally;Strong oral presentation skills for both small and large audiences; A high level of strategic thinking is required in order to synthesize complex information to identify and deploy action plans;Possess a high degree of diplomacy to influence and manage key stakeholders and teams; Demonstrated ability to independently recommend and determine approaches to completing projects and managing processes where precedents are not always available;Ability to effectively communicate scientific/economic information in an advocacy setting both to internal and external audiences;Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds; Proficiency in the use of PCs and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), familiarity with project management software preferred (i.e., Podio, Asana, Smartsheets, etc.)Willingness to travel and work with teams across different time zones.PreferredStrong analytical skills and experience performing rigorous analysis in support of highly visible work

Minimum Salary:
USD $68,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary:
USD $75,000.00/Yr.
