Overview
Monte Rosa Therapeutics is looking for an energetic and self-motivated scientist who will join our Boston team to work on the discovery and characterization of novel molecular glue degraders. At Monte Rosa we aim to deliver pioneering therapies for cancer, inflammation, autoimmunity and rare genetic diseases by taking a rational approach to inducing degradation of disease-causing proteins. This "Target & Discovery" role includes both strategic scientific thinking & hands on bench-work. The candidate will make critical contributions to target identification, validation & progression of molecular glue degraders from hit identification to validation stage.
Responsibilities
· Lead early drug discovery efforts to identify and validate Non-oncology targets and support hit-to-lead progression

· Develop disease relevant models and assays of target degradation and downstream effects (e.g. signaling, viability, cytokine secretion)

· Design & execute phenotypic screens to ID novel Molecule Glue Degraders in Disease areas of interest within Non-oncology

· Utilize literature and internal genomics data sets to design and test hypotheses for drug targets

· Interpret, present and report research findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences

· Participate collaboratively with others to identify target opportunities across the proprietary MGD platform
Qualifications
· PhD or Postdoc equivalent in Immunology or Cell Biology with 1-3 years hands-on experience in drug discovery research in a pharmaceutical setting

· Extensive experience in primary immune cell functional assay design & development

· Proficient in multi-parameter flow cytometry

· Experience with a variety of molecular biology / target validation methods and assays such as immunoblotting, ELISA, qRT-PCR, CRISPr/shRNA/dTAG, cytokine secretion

· Experience preparing drug dilutions and performing drug viability/cytotoxicity experiments

· Experience with external CROs to support project progression and meet deadlines

· Ability to work in a team-based and cross-functional environment

· Proven track record of striving for high level innovation and scientific excellence

· Excellent time management skills and flexibility to accommodate to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines

· Protein degradation experience is a plus
